It's not about what you have to hide, it's about closing the door when you go to bathroom.
A summary of my thoughts on privacy, misinformation, conspiracy theories and the role Google and Facebook play.
Experiences founding and running an Estonian company.
Redang Island
White beaches, great diving, Orangutans.
🇨🇭 🇺🇦 🇦🇹
We stayed in Cyprus for the month of July, as it was the middle of the monsoon season in Asia. But Cyprus in July was HOT and August is usually HOTTER, so we decided to travel through some milder countries instead. In Zurich we visited one of our clients, in Kiev we met with some of our remote team members and in Vienna we picked up the Estonian eResidency card. Here are some more details on each destination.
A rational view on marriage.
Even though by marriage the same rights apply as for a EU citizen, the reality is often far off.
As a digital nomad one doesn’t need much.
Bikepacking is a new level of minimalism. Here’s what we learned on our first trip.
Victory loves preparation
Amat Victoria Curam (“Victory loves preparation”) was the motto of 2011 “The Mechanic” movie and was going through my head as we arrived in Arakapas, the set destination of the day. But first how we got there.
Part 1.
47km from Larnaca to Lefkara with a mountain bike and a laptop.
Cyprus East to West — West to East.
The past two weeks we traveled from Larnaca to Paphos twice, once for our amazing company retreat for Zentered, the second time privately with a rental car.
Larnaca Central Post Office
Foinikoudes, Souvlaki, and low taxes.
If it's free. You're the product.
Privacy is about going to the restroom and closing the door behind you. It’s not other peoples business.
Two weeks traveling through Thailand
Since it’s a shorter timeframe than usual, I’ll summarise everything in one post. After arriving in Thailand I had mixed feelings about the country. Expectations where high, given it’s the top destination for tourists and the internet is full of white sand beaches with crystal clear water.
Ancient and modern worlds, but not so much adventure.
From Siem Reap to Ratanakiri to Kep. With a short stop in Phnom Penh.
Fish. Crab. Superhighways.
A trip not exactly what we imaged.
Angkor Wat
Temples. Temples temples temples temples and more temples. That was our weekend, the first two days in Seam Reap.
This is a summary of our trip to Indonesia.
30 days, many adventures, many mistakes.
Statue at the entrance of Monkey Forest
City & monkeys. Not so many rice fields.
Sunset on Gili Air with view on Lombok
Paradise on earth.
Not all Top 5 are good (for you)
Fortunately only two days in Canggu
White Sand Beach, Padang Bai
The first week as freshly baked Digital Nomads is almost over and we’re moving to the next location. Here’s my review of the first place: Padang Bai.
Death and taxes.
I’ve been a freelancer (Autónomo) in Spain for many years, and the one thing I learned to do right (at least I never had issues after screwing up once), is accounting for taxes (IVA + IRPF.
My Best of Barcelona
After six years in Barcelona, here's my list of the best places and things to do (Nerd Edition).
Six years in Barcelona and a thousand memories.
I went to Barcelona in July 2011 for a short vacation. Within a week I decided to stay, found a job and moved there. The plan was to stay for a year or two, learn Spanish and then go to South America. It didn't go that way.
4000 km From Barcelona to Slovenia and Back
This is the 3rd road trip with my Sportster, the first time I went straight from Barcelona to Germany for a 3 week vacation, the second time I toured around mostly through Austria with my girlfriend and this time it was a 4 week extended, unplanned trip through the Italian Alps, with Bled (Slovenia) as final destination.
New Media & New Technology - Collaboratively
A project for the Media Technology MSc at Leiden University. I tried to produce art collaboratively through the phone accelerometer from participants.
